Research On The Contemporary Practice Of Pipa Improvisation

This article is a case study of Wu Man's improvisation practiceAs a contemporary Pipa player with the world influence,Wu Man is an active ambassador of world music culture from the East to the world.Her practice and exploration of inheriting and developing traditional music in the context of world culture have certain enlightening value for the development of contemporary traditional instrumental music Improvisation is widespread in musical activities,and it is a reflection of musicians' musical qualifications,and the ability of organizing musical techniques and vocabulary.Through the analysis and interpretation of Wu Man's improvisation practice case,this article obtains the characteristics of her improvisation starting point and the model of the improvisation process to understand her practice as an example of a individual improvisation systemThe study is divided into four parts:First,the overall context of contemporary Pipa improvisation from Chinese folk music to the context of world music;Combing Wu Man's personal experience of study and practice,to discuss the process of from the beginning of study to the formation of her unique improvisation style.To illustrate the improvisation through the observation of her "improvisation music performance",and focus on the field of collective improvisation of the musicians,take contemporary Pipa performer Wu Man's improvisation practice as an example to discuss the improvisation of Pipa,and to figure out how Pipa realized the rest-ruction and translation of instrumental music vocabulary during the interactive improvisation,and how the individual style being performed during the improvising practiceThis paper prospect to recognize and understand the collective improvisation practice which the performers take a leading role,and to discuss this topic further as a musicians' social activities and cultural phenomena,involving the theoretical methods of musicology,sociology,anthropology,linguistics,and other related fields.
