Preliminary Study On Liao Dynasty City Sites In Inner Mongolia

This article is on Liao Cities in Inner Mongolia study history﹑Executive Establishment﹑type﹑shape﹑function and compared with other ethnic groups of the preliminary study.Liao Cities in Inner Mongolia of the study history can be divided into created period﹑development period﹑ stagnation﹑ boom﹑ the new period of five stages.Liao Cities of Inner Mongolia are divided into capitals﹑states﹑TouXiaZhou﹑ counties of WoLuDuo﹑ FengLingYap﹑ the border countries.Based on shape analysis,Inner Mongolia's Liao countries are characterized by single city type,twin cities type, multi cites type.Single city type has rectangular﹑square﹑irregular shape.Twin cities type has a shape of the Chinese word"hui",the shape of two cities is connected for sun,the shape of two cities tied,the shape of two cities of city with the same wall.There are four forms.Multi country type have triple walls.These towns have a distinctive national characteristics of Khitan,LiaoShangjing has two countries,TouXiaZhou,WoLuDuo counties have the slave nature,architecture to the east and arbitrary of layout and so on.These towns have early and late significantly different characteristics in the Liao Dynasty.In the early period the towns are generally more reserved to the national character,the late towns have the characteristics of development to the tendency of the Central Plains.LiaoShangJing,LiaoZhongjing,Liao counties were political, military, economic and cultural center,TouXizZhou,WoLuDuo counties have prominent economic role,FengLingYap was mainly used for ritual and guard imperial tombs,the border countries were for military purposes.Liao capital have many differents to the capital of the Northern Song Dynasty and Western Xia capital with pursue the layout symmetry and compactness.To the later development of the golden generation of capital also was a great impact.
