Structural Functionalism And Social Critical Theory

From "respect for differences" and "inclusive diversity" perspective of building a socialistic harmonious society, this paper mainly generalizes structural functionalism and social critical theory in literature review, basic concept, ideological origin, the basic theory and domestic research. According to the general laws of technical/cultural exchanges——introduction-digestion and absorption - a re-creation [Secondary Innovation] - the output, we do research in order to explore that socialistic core value system how to lead the university teachers and students to deal with contemporary social thought in a concrete and effective way. From the logical structure point of view, this paper is divided into three parts. Based on the literature review of domestic and international research, the first two parts are the general description of structural functionalism and social critical theory. The last part is to discuss two theories for the perspective of socialistic core value.PartⅠFirstly, we introduce basic concept and the three major theoretical sources of structural functionalism, secondly we do comparative study with theoretical point of view between the Parsons and Merton, the main representatives of structural functionalism, based on the ideological content and development process of structural functionalism, and finally an overview of domestic research in structure functionalism. PartⅡWe expound basic concept, ideological origins and development process of Social critical theory of Frankfurt School. And then, we introduce the basic viewpoints of first-generation theorists from five different aspects. Through different attitudes and interpretations of critical theory of Chinese scholars, we reveal the historical effect and social enlightenment of Frankfurt School. PartⅢAccording to the basic principles put forward on the Seventeenth National Congress of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China-being inclusive and diverse; facing the challenges; promoting the self-development; opening up to the world, we should initially establish the dominance and leadership of the system of socialistic core values in China's ideological field. And then, we should build the social theory with Chinese characteristics and Chinese style on the basis of tolerance, in order to make the social theory with the system of socialistic core values to become the global ideological resources.
