The Study Of The Appellations In Marriage Destinies To Awaken The World

Chinese nation is famous for courtesy and the using of appellation affecting the appropriate of courtesy. Chinese always pay great attention to the research of appellation. In eighties of last century, the research of appellation got the scholar's attentions again after much research on cultural linguistics.This paper is based on Marriage Destinies to Awaken the World published by Zhonghua book company in 2004, giving an expansion study of appellation from four points, while drawing on previous research results.First, my research bases on the points of self-title and the third person.. These terms are simple and practical, which bring convenient to people's communication. Some of the titles spread from ancient times, and some are dialect, with the spread of using, these titles become common language at last.Second, my paper summarizes the appellations in Marriage Destinies to Awaken the World into two categories:social appellations and relative appellations; and then analyses the small categories, the social factors led to their formation and contained emotions. My paper wants to explore the relationship between appellation and Chinese culture, political system and Socio-economic.Third, my paper analyses restrictions in the use of appellation from the point of pragmatics and rhetoric. The restrictions include psychological motivation, situational context and novel language style, which fulfill the needs of communication.At last, my paper analyses word formation of appellation in that novel, which try to study appellation's features in word formation and explain the changes of appellation.
