The New Research On Chinese Etymology

The study of chinese etymology has a long history in China, as one of the most important parts of chinese linguistics. There are some study about cognates before Qin, and till now a number of proffessors are commited to the research on this realm.Chinese etymology is becoming a systematic,theorized and independent subject. But it has to search its new way with the transformation of society and academic.We found there are three problems on the realm throug observing the modern academic development:the first is the deficiency in explaining the law of fcognats formation;the second is the deficiency on methodology of cognats judgment;the third is the deficiency of cognats interpretation. The essay based on historical concept and composite perspective raises related theories:the theory about the cognats formation law,the theory about cognats multidimensional judgment method and the theory about cognats interpretation.Then,on the base of these theories,we conduct some practice.In the firest part of the essey,we elaborate the theories above.In the second part we take use these theories to judge cognats of"直,植,值,德"and"正,征,政,钲,眐,证,定,整,是,徥,諟,(?),匙,湜".And then on the base of these,we do some interpretation from linguistic, psychological,cultural and philosophy respects.
