Try To Discuss Chen Yuan's Buddhism History Of Research

Chen Yuan is the outstanding achievements of 20th century historians. In the history of religions, Yuan history, history of literature and other fields, he had achieved fruitful results, who was known as the " pioneer history master in Republic of China ".In recent years,many scholars payed more attentions to studying his history papers and books. Now they had acquired many significant results. However, compared to the other historians, scholars were lack of academic research in Chen Yuan's books, especially in his religion history field. The purpose of this article is to preliminary study Chen Yuan's Buddhism history, and allow scholars to understand his historical style.The article is mainly divided into five parts. The first part is to reveal the research reasons of Chen Yuan's Buddhism history. There are two specific reasons, one is his religious beliefs and love of historical research, the two factors provide the opportunities and possibilities in his Buddhism history research. The other is that he considered his Buddhism history as the weapons of anti-Japanese invasion. The social and cultural background of his research is the third reason. For example, the civil cultural debates; the revival of Buddhism; the new documents of Dun Huang and the special research methods, and so on.The second part is to clarify the achievements of Chen Yuan's Buddhism history research. The fifth part is a summary of his outstanding academic status, is brought forward to open a new history master.
