With the coming of the new century, the study of Chinese children's literature reading has gained tremendous progress. But there are still a lot of problems in children's literature reading. We need to analyze it thoroughly to find a better education method that will suit and cultivate children's whole development best. With the current problems in children's literature reading:"non-literature","non-root","pre-aesthetic", we need to propose the aesthetic children's literature reading with the focus on Aesthetic Image. We need to see the children's literature reading in the overall context of Chinese culture, then extend it to the origin of Chinese culture"image", and try to extend it in the literature aesthetic field following the traditional Chinese"Still Image"theory based on the Chinese Translation Principle. Through the research of the aesthetic routes and the aesthetic psychology of children's literature reading, we need to find the value of image in children's literature reading, satisfy children's expectation while they read nursery rhymes, classical poetry, fables, fairy tales : the narration and reading aloud in the aesthetic image level, the restoration and explanation in the aesthetic style level, the imagination and empathy in the aesthetic feeling level, the conversation and meditation in the aesthetic metaphor level, and the reclaim and piety in the aesthetic value level. We need to form the new thinking in children's aesthetic reading which combines the theory and practice, improving children's literacy and overall development in all aspects.
