Biography of heroic offspring is a colloquial novel written by a a bannerman writer named wenkang during the middle ages of the 19th century. The language in this book reflect the basic picture of Peking dialect in that period. Consequently this book is material of precious value to study the system of modern Peking dialect concerning vocabulary and grammar. Massive and complicated vocabulary has been used in this book which becomes a characteristic of it and an obvious embodiment of its specialty by writingin a colloquial way.This paper bases on the 24 single suffixes and 76 reduplicated suffixes consisting Lao,Da,Di,Sheng1,Xiao,Chu,A,Li,Tou1,Ba1,Sheng2,Er,Zi,Men,Jia,Ran,Tou2,Zhe,Sheng3,Ge,Jia,Ba2,Mei,Ke and so on in Biography of heroic offspring as the research object.From a phonic form, inner structure, vocabulary sort and some other aspects, this paper, in a metric statistic way, gives a static description of the affixes one by one. Hence we outlined the system of basic overview of affixes in Biography of heroic offspring.On the basis of the description of affixes system in Biography of heroic offspring, we had a compare of affixes between Biography of heroic offspring and another important literature called Cihua Edition of Golden Lotus which belongs to the northern dialect system 300 years ago. We attempt to explore the differences of affixes between these two remarkable literatures. In this way, we can outline the evolutional trace of affixes from the period of Cihua Edition of Golden Lotus to that of Biography of heroic offspring. This paper is based on the Biography of heroic offspring (volume 1, volume 2) which is one of the"Chinese historical novel series"that were published by demotic literature press in 1983.
