The gender harmony and the re-positioning of female status have attracted more attention since the 90's of the 20th century in China. Accompanied by the development of the market economy and the increasing of material and cultural consumption demand, it will be important to study the contemporary Chinese female teleplay based on the most familiar media– television. The topic of this thesis is the Chinese female teleplay which has been played since the 90's of the 20th century. The female teleplay, which is referred in this thesis, is the teleplay in which the female is taken as the theme or the leading actor. Like as the novel, as a narrative of Chinese female in film and television, the significance of female teleplay not only exists in the story among the heroines, but also exists in the discourse - the visual language and narrative method.Considering theoretical ideas and methods of Susan ? S ? Lancer, a famous scholar of U.S., in feminist narratology, combined with the unique properties of Chinese female teleplay, I arrange the female teleplay for two types, individual and collective narrative description in Chapter I. And then I study and analycis their narrative structure with a similar pattern to summarize respectively.Chapter II is the emphasis of this article. According to the film narrative research, it is illustrated how the play books are revealed by using the basic two morphemes: picture and sound. The sameness and differences between the two narrative types is expatiated. Section III is most important in this chapter. Drawing on the Susan ? S ? Lancer "voice" theory, the female's"voice"in the play book is explored and exhibited by using the external symbols.Chapter III of Based the China's long history and China's unique social backgrounds, it is illustrated why the female"voice"in teleplay is on current state from the traditional culture, mainstream culture and business culture. The underlying genetic mechanism of the multi-cultural existence behind the Chinese female's unique "voice" is study too.According to the available information at present, the narrative research about the 90's Chinese female teleplay always belong to the study of women's criticism, mostly in the ideological areas. There are few articles focusing on the general form of the play book or extracting a general rule. There is only one paper, which used feminist narrative study to examine the play book. It is Shu-Mei Zheng's "female self-image expression: Shaohong Li's female TV narrative study" ,Zhejiang University. In this paper, the multi-characters of the 90's Chinese female teleplay of the 20th century are firstly analyzed from the logos and essentiality. The special general commonness is summarized from some individual phases. The reason behind the phenomena is found from the deep academic levels. Considering the feminist narrative study, combined with the history, the film narrative theory, the communication studies and the psychology, the triggering mechanism of narrative mode and the meaning of multiple context are both studied to explain the resultant social and cultural psychological background institutions as well as the effect. And then the phenomena and problems which exist in contemporary Chinese female narrative theory is mentioned and discussed to improve the integrity of the narrative.
