The illusion of transparency arises from dissymmetry between individual's self-perception and social perception, and this perception deviation obtains a lot of attention from many researchers. A great many of relevant experimental results are widely supported and validated in the fields such as negotiation, clinical treatment of social anxiety, personality evaluation as well as communication among college students.Considering the scare fruits in the research field of illusion of transparency, some researchers make attempts to explore the psychological mechanism—especially the anchoring—behind it, but no ideal achievements being made. In this paper, University students are conducted for tested groups, respectively, freshman, sophomore and junior students. We attempt to study the psychological mechanism of illusion of transparency from the view of anchor and its adjustment process. The research consists of three experiments:On the foundation of experiment one, it is discussed in experiment two about the influences of different levels of anchoring on illusion of transparency by drink identification procedures. It adopted in experiment two the same experimental design with 80 subjects, half of them are male and the remainders are female. The results reveal as follow: 1. Illusion of transparency presented in both immediate group and delayed group. 2. The strength of illusion of transparency of high group anchor value is higher than that of low anchor value group. On the foundation of experiment two, it is then discussed in experiment there about the influences of the adjustment of anchoring on illusion of transparency. It adopted the between-subjects design with 80 subjects, half of them are male and the remainders are female. The results reveal as follow: 1. Illusion of transparency presented in both cognitive business group and cognitive idle group. 2. These are no significant differences between cognitive business group and cognitive idle group. So we included the following results: 1. The existence conditions of illusion of transparency are as following: individuals have intense inner conflicts and they believe that their inner conflicts could disclose by some way.2. The determination of anchoring has important influence on illusion of transparency. Higher initial anchor will cause higher level of illusion of transparency and lower initial anchor will cause lower level of illusion of transparency.3. The adjustment process of anchoring plays limited impacts on illusion of transparency, but we found no significant differences between cognitive business group and cognitive idle group in this paper.
