Ma Lan Hua is a children play adapted from Xiong Sai Sheng's poetry Ma Lian Hua and folktale She Lang. Folktale is a type of narrative literature passes down from the ancient time, and some are evolved from Myth.This dissertation will first search for the origin of Ma Lan Hua through the concepts of Motif in Myth and Archetype, and analyze various models of archetype in the text.According to C.G Jung's concept of Collective Unconsciousness, personal energy is always transformed into symbols, and then appears as motif for myth, folktales and fairy tales. Based on this thinking, Chapter 2 embarks with the imago of Ma Lan flower, and though an analysis of the "two sisters and a man" model, in order to get a better understanding on hardworking, which is one of the Chinese core values.Chapter 3 will further reveal the aesthetical and educational values of Ma Lan Hua. All great art will achieve a height of philosophy. Thus, the ever popularity of Ma Lan Hua, shows that the secret behind is beyond simple aesthetic pleasure, but it brings certain spiritual impact on us.The ultimate virtue that Ma Lan Hua brought along, is no less than a spiritual light that will brighten our road in the darkness.
