The theory of"lexical chunk"holds that the basic unit of natural languages is not isolated words but lexical chunks. Lexical chunks are those fixed expressions in a languages, and master of substantial lexical chunk not only can improve the accuracy and fluency of the language learners'expression but also can improve their capability of grammar analysis.Foreign research shows lexical chunk plays a primary role in language teaching and learning. At present, our study on Chinese lexical chunk is yet on the initial stage, and need further investigation. This article presents a brief review of lexical chunk theory and analyzing the current situations and importance of lexical chunk, On the basis of western lexical chunk, this paper analyzes Chinese lexical chunk, we also classify the Chinese lexical chunk into three types: fixed structure; fill—in structure; unfixed structure. Taking HSK tests as research objects, adopting SPSS test, this paper confirms the supposition that different Chinese level foreign students held significantly differences in the process of Chinese lexical chunk use; different backgrounds foreign students held significantly differences in the process of Chinese lexical chunk use; Our study describes the general characteristics of Chinese lexical chunk, analyses the differences of different Chinese level and different backgrounds foreign students in the process of Chinese lexical chunk use, mainly being shown in three aspects, this article also analyzes students'errors about lexical chunk. According to the research, we put forward the related teaching advises.
