Program Variables In Emotional Stroop Task

In psychological studies, the relationship between emotion and cognition is a hot topic. Many studies have confirmed that people's cognition was affected by emotions. Scholars have used various methods to study this topic, in order to know how emotion impacts on cognition. In these methods, experimental method is used widely. According to analyze many experiments, people concluded several experimental patterns. The experiment on emotional stroop effect is most common.In many studies, emotional stroop effect has been proved. But some researchers found that it wasn't exit. In addition, other result is inverse. In order to be clear analysis of emotional stroop effect, people change some programs variables in emotional stroop task。With a summary of previous studies, the author will divided program variables into three sorts: (1)Priming stimulation, which include present timing, material type and emotional type, etc.; (2)Target stimulation, which include material type and reaction type, etc.; (3)Coherence between prime and target, which include material conference and emotional conference, etc.. People found that different variables maybe change the result. Therefore, the author thought that changing the program variable possibly has the influence to the emotional stroop effect. So, in this research, the main purpose is analyzed which kinds of variable can influence the result in emotional stroop task.In addition, some researches have showed that emotional stroop effect has related with emotional condition. Therefore, in this research used the questionnaire to tested the degree of anxiety, in order to know the relation between anxiety and emotional stroop effect.The results showed that the present time of prime had a significant influence to the emotional stroop effect. Material and emotional typies of prime weren't significant influence. For the target variables, changing the material types can affect the results, the response time of color blocks is fastest, and the response time of emotional materials is slowest. For coherence variables, confliction between meaning and color will led emotional stroop effect to change. Material confliction and emotional confliction didn't exist. The state of anxiety affected the response of color blocks.
