The present study use affective nonlingual sounds as primes and words as targets to investigate the affective priming effects during evaluative categorization task. In the behavioral experiment part, twenty-two young native-Chinese-speakers(11 males, 11 females) participated in the study. The RT finding replicated the affective priming effect, which showed that reponses to affectively congruent trails were faster than affectively incongruent trials .And there is no difference between sex in the affective priming effect. On the base of the behavioral experiment, we used event-ralated potential(ERPs)to investigate the possible underlying neural mechanisms of the affective priming effect. Fourteen-young native-Chinese-speakers(4males,10females) participated in the study. ERPs were recorded from 64 scalp electrodes while participants pressed either "Happy"or "sad"buttons to indicate target pleasantness. We got the results as follow: 1,A N100 was found which proved the preattentional phase during the affective stimulate.2, A P250 which give the cue of the interact effects between the optic modal and auditory modal for the affective cognization in affective priming effect.3, A N350 in that larger negative amplitudes were found for in congruent paris than congruent pairs。4, The LPC and N350 component were found ,which indicated that the affective priming effect could be explained by either Spreading Activation Mechanism or Affective-Matching Mechanism. So It should be explained by a comformly modal as the mechanism of the affective priming effect from the point of electrophysiology.
