This thesis mainly states the tense category in Pinghu dialect. The author sums up the tense system of Pinghu dialect, based on a large number of investigations and achievements of other researches. In this article "the tense "concept is different from the Western Linguistics "the tense "concept. The concept in this article is more general and from the perspective of the semantic understanding. Therefore, this time relations can be expressed by the word means, can also be marked to indicate syntax. There is an absolute tense and also an opposite tense in Pinghu dialect. The thesis gives respectively a more detailed description and analyses the meaning of its vocabulary and grammar structure. Through the comparison between other dialects, and finally summarizes the tense characteristics of Pinghu dialect.This thesis divides into six parts:the introduction part introduces the proposal and current study of this proposition, and introduces Pinghu geographical location, administrative and dialect division, and finally comes to a summary of its voice system.In Chapter one, summarizes the forerunners of the concept, types and means of expression in tense, a brief introduction about the relationship between the tense and aspectual.In Chapter two, In Pinghu dialect, not only there is an absolute tense, but also there is an opposite tense. Among them, the absolute tense is divided into:past, present and future tense and it is expressed by the word means and syntax means. The opposite tense is divided into three kinds of types: anterior, simple and posterio. It is expressed by syntax means.In Chapter three, The forms of some vocabulary elements which conveys the tense meaning play an important role in Pinghu dialect. The author describes the vocabulary elements in detail. It is divided into time nouns, time adverbs, time consecutive words, time positional phrases and time prepositional phrases. In Chapter four, the author describes the tense system in detail. Based on the classes of tense structure in chapter two, taking to a large number of dialect materials into consideration, and proceeding from the grammar meaning and syntax structure, the author describes the usage of every tesne in Pinghu dialect, which contains Anterior, Simple and Posterio.Conclusion part makes a summary of this thesis, and sums up the tense characteristics in Pinghu dialect and the relations of tense auxiliaries and aspect auxiliaries with tables.In short, this thesis systematically describes and analyzes the tense category in donging so, not only can we clearly know the tense category of Pinghu dialect, but also draw a reference for the experts to research the similar phenomenon existed in Wu and other dialects.
