| The Tang and Five Dynasties is an important period in the history of Chinese vocabulary development.In this paper,Zongjinglu,a representative of Zen literature written at the end of the Five Dynasties,is selected as the research object.This paper uses the systematic dictionary of stuttering words in R language and the user-defined dictionary to cut the text of Zongjinglu.Compared with the Dictionary of Modern Chinese,this paper extracts the new words born in the Tang Dynasty and the Five Dynasties(namely,the "the vocabulary’s new elements" in this paper),aiming at describing the new quality of vocabulary in Zongjinglu.It also reveals the value of this study to the compilation and revision of the Dictionary of Modern Chinese and the Dictionary of Zen Buddhism.The thesis is divided into four parts.The first chapter introduces the author and general situation of the book,as well as the research status of the vocabulary of the book and the Zen vocabulary of the Tang and Five Dynasties.Explain the reason of topic selection,research significance,research methods,research ideas and so on.In the second chapter,the extracted new elements of vocabulary are classified and described according to the name,behavior,character and other four aspects.Nominals are words that refer to various concrete and abstract things;Behavior refers to the change in the movement of things or the existence of words;Character refers to the category of things or movements,appearances,properties,states,performance characteristics or modes of existence of words;Some words which are not easy to be classified into the above three categories,such as some function words and words whose meaning attribute is not obvious,are classified into other categories.Chapter three reveals the value of this research to the dictionary editing.The Dictionary of Modern Chinese and The Dictionary of Zen have been highly recognized by many scholars since their publication.Due to the limitations of The Times,the two dictionaries inevitably have some omissions.This paper probes into the value of the new elements of the words of Zongjinglu to the editing of the two dictionaries from the aspects of the addition of the entry,the correction of the interpretation and the advance of the documentary evidence.Chapter four,through the whole and local sampling statistics method,the extracted vocabulary elements are summarized and analyzed.On the whole,in the new elements of vocabulary in Zongjinglu,the newly created words in Tang and Five Dynasties account for a relatively high proportion,and most of them are two-syllable words.Among them,quite a number of new words use new word forms to express original concepts,which indicates that the emergence of new word forms is not only due to the need to refer to new things and new phenomena,but also due to the improvement of people’s understanding level and re-understanding of original things. |
