Textual Research On Tsinghua Bamboo Slips And Some Historical Events Of Shang And Zhou Dynasties

As we all know, the Pre-Qin history is difficult to research, because it is limited by lacking historical materials and many questions are unable to solve. With more and more archaeological discoveries, it is opening up full of vitality in this area. Especially the Tsinghua bamboo slips, which are published recently, produce inestimable influence for Chinese ancient history. Based on the Tsinghua bamboo slips, traditional texts, the oracle bone and bronze inscriptions, the paper makes a textual research and analysis on several important events in Shang and Zhou dynasty by using the double evidence method. The paper is divided into four parts.Introduction firstly presents general condition on Tsinghua bamboo slips, and then elaborates the paper's content briefly by showing the innovation, research ideas, methods and limits.Part one takes a preliminary investigation on several questions in Shang and Western Zhou period by using Tsinghua bamboo slips such as Yin Gao, Fu Yue Zhi Ming, Cheng Wu, Huang Men, Zhai Gong Zhi Gu Ming. In text Yin Gao, Friend stands for surrender officers and people stands for citizens of Xia dynasty. Text Shuo Ming records a long lost story that elaborates a good relationship between Wu Ding and Fu Yue. In text Cheng Wu, Taizi Fa has a close relationship with Zi tree, which stands for Zhou State, Song, Bo, Yu, Zuo stand for Zhou State's officer. For the meaning of Zhou Gong in the east, paper analyses Zhou Gong, Shao Gong and Tai Gong's relationship, and illustrates Tai Gong is different surname to Zhou Wu wang, while Shao Gong has a brotherhood with Zhou Wu wang. It hints that Zhou Gong has a priority in politics. In text Huang Men, some versions have to be reinterpreted, and it has a close relationship between Huang Men and Li Zheng. In text Zhai Gong Zhi Gu Ming, Zhai Gong warns Zhou Mu wang keeping on Wen Wang and Wu Wang's work, sticking to God's will, giving talented persons to a post in order to keep Western Zhou's stability.Part two takes a preliminary investigation on several questions in Chun Qiu period. King Ping of Zhou dynasty has a transformation form crown prince to king. King Wen of Chu captures Country Xi, which is very important for Country Chu's development and providing a stable foundation for Country Chu. Chong Er and Yi Wu both have gains and lose, which is close to Li Ke's attitude. It shows cruel political fights by analyzing Zhao Dun's grasping power process. Country Chu attacks Country Zheng is not only for Zi Jia, but also for alliance of Jin and Zheng hurts Chu's profits. By researching battle in An, it corrects the view that Xiao Tong shu zi is jeering at Xi Ke. Wu Cheng defects Chu because of pursuing Xia Ji. It looks like a fight between Wu Chen and Zi Fan, actually it is a political action for direct line of descent persons of royal lineage.The conclusion sums up the research on several questions on Tsinghua bamboo slips. It is a great potencial point for research of Tsinghua bamboo slips. Sticing to use traditional texts and archaeological discoveries, it is possible to solve some difficult history questions.
