The topic of this dissertation is the motivation-developing function of using drama as a tool in the process of second/foreign language (L2/FL) teaching and learning. It can be found that theories related to neurolinguistics, language teaching and learner factors support using drama as a pedagogical tool to facilitate L2/FL learning. Meanwhile, studies conducted by researchers also show positive impact of drama on language learning. In this dissertation, the writer firstly reviews those theories and studies, and then, explores the application of the method of Teaching through Drama in practice in the context of a class in a domestic primary school by questionnaires and interviews. The results of both studies support that the students in the Drama Group showed a stronger motivation.
