A Report On The English-chinese Translation Of Developing School Readiness: Creating Lifelong Learners

This translation practice report belongs to the scientific English text in the field of education.With the rapid development of Chinese economy,quality education in primary and secondary schools has also been put on the agenda as the top priority for improving the overall quality of the people.Studying the development of foreign early childhood's education can help us to comprehensively apply the basic knowledge and basic skills what we have learned to carry out the development strategy of early childhood education in China,improve the ability to analyze and solve the problems of preschool education,and contribute to the early childhood's education in China.In the process of translation,the main problem of translator is how to translate noun phrases,passive sentences,compound sentences and so on.Based on this problem,the translator adopts appropriate translation methods from the perspective of functional equivalence theory,such as conversion of word classes,transfer state transition,variable translation,comprehensive translation,etc..At the same time,a number of examples are also selected,and the existing theoretical basis is used to further clarify and demonstrate the equivalent of the article in terms of vocabulary,sentence and chapter.To ensure the accuracy and scientificity of the translation and make the translation more close to the original text in line with the expression habits of the target language readers,in order to explore the general translation method of educational texts.This practical report first describes the original text;secondly,it introduces the translation process;then,different translation methods are proposed for the difficulty of translation and demonstrated in the examples;finally,it summarizes and inspires the practice of this translation.
