Let Technology Go Towards Lifeworld

Science and Technology has deep affection on the future of mankind. It brings prosperity to human, but it also brings much negative effect. On the road to harmonize science and technology and human society, Habermas's thought on technologic philosophy does show its unique attraction. He put technology into the democratic dialogue. This would be the possible way to coordinate the development the technology and human's life.This paper tries to clarify the line of Habermas's thought on technologic philosophy. The first chapter is the introduction: research background and significance and the present situation at home and abroad. The second chapter elaborates the contents of life world and the theory of communicative action. Life world is an important concept in Habermas's ideas. The theory of communicative action is the footstone of Habermas's theory. Building a reasonable life world is the long-cherished wishes of Habermas. The rationalization of technology is the indispensable way to going towards life world. The third chapter mainly explains the rationalization of technology. Firstly, it explains Habermas's technical understanding. From his view about technology, to handle the relationship between technology and human's life must clarify the relationship between technology and practice. Secondly, it analyzes the relationship between technology and practice, points out the way to solve the problem of the relationship between technology and practice is to critical reflect the consequences of the development of science and technology, and remodeling the power of reasonable democratic dialogue. Thirdly, it explains Habermas's view about technology goes toward the democratic dialogue. In this section, Habermas bases on his own the theory of communicative action, put technology into democratic dialogue, then set up an interactive relationship between the deployment of technology and society life practice, provide a possible way for the rationalization of technology. At the same time, it can prepare for the rationalization of life world. Lastly, it interprets habermas's view about rationalization of life world. The forth chapter points out the value and limitation of Habermas's thought on technologic philosophy. The value of Habermas's thought on technologic philosophy: the theory of discourse democracy providing the possibility of understanding of different science culture; putting technology into democratic dialogue to providing a possible way for rationalization of technology; the dialectical unity between life world and the theory of communicative action. The limitation of Habermas's thought on technologic philosophy: denying the objectivity and universality of science; exaggerating the function of ethic; exaggerating the function of language.Sincerity, Habermas is a master of philosophy. His thought on technologic philosophy is of great value.
