On The Extension, Variation And Deviation Of The Pioneer Spirit

In the 1980s, the pioneer literature prevailed in the Chinese literary world. The author named Yu Hua, stand up as a leading person in this field for his violent, indifferent, brutal and even bloody literature style. However, the pioneer literature vanished after its short flash due to the hypocritical social situation, the need of the economical market and the deviation of reader's interest. When most of the pioneer authors were declining and farewell to the grand days of past, Yu Hua did a new turn to a much boarder field of creation with his saga novel Cry in Drizzle. Someone thought that Yu had totally abandoned and even had rebelled the former pioneer literature, and changed into a "fresh new him" from then on, while he himself didn't agree, because Yu Hua didn't think he has the ability that enough to rebelled the pioneer literature. Of course, there are also someone thought that pioneer is a kind of spirit that is sustainable. Yu Hua has no intention of cutting of the spirit of "pioneer"; rather, it is only his own personal need to change the style of creation. The thesis holds that Yu still remains some pioneer spirit in his works since 90s, despite that more realistic factor are added, which helped to broaden the scope of performance, enriched readers'vision. His works indeed have changed much, and we should pay attention. The thesis will discuss the transform of Yu Hua's new works concerning the extension, variation and deviation of "pioneer spirit"; analyze the multi-level relations between these new novels and the novels in the time pioneer literature. We should admit that Yu Hua's later works did have much difference with his former works; however, the difference is not in essential, there are still many familiar features, which we believe are the internal extensions of pioneer literature. These familiar features of pioneer spirit, as it should be, are not simply duplications of the past, but are some particular variations, from which we can see its deviation from the old-pioneer literature and its new explanations of the literature creation.The thesis is divided into three parts:First, the connotation of the spirit, namely the evolution of the pioneer spirit.
