The study aims to investigate (1) the experience and attitude of learners to the extracurricular verbal interaction with another learner; (2) the opinion and attitude after the extracurricular verbal interaction with another learner; (3) whether and to what extent the effect of interaction between learners would work. Two methods were administered to three subjects for the information and data collection. The subjects received retrospective interviews before and after the interaction experiment respectively. The first interview was for the first question and the other interview was for the second question. Except interview, data information of the subjects in interaction was recorded for analysis. The results of this study are: (1) learners even those who had learned English for years and made good results had little interaction with another learner and doubted or refused the interaction between learners; (2) learners made positive judge to learner-learner interaction, and such kind of interaction indeed provided linguistic-rich environments for learners in their language acquisition process; (3) processes of interaction between learner-learner were similar to the learner–native speaker interaction. The subjects recognized the effect of interaction between learners. In the course of interaction, subjects provided the modified output, negotiated the errors or misunderstandings in output and input. It confirmed that learner-learner interaction could achieve the effect of interaction and make up the limitation of learning resources. This study explains the importance of interaction between learners for both teachers and learners, and suggests the extracurricular verbal interaction as a necessary learning factor for learners.
