A Review Of The Female Self-consciousnessof Yan Geling's Novels

This thesis trys to exp1ore and analyse the female self-consciousnesss of YanGeling's novels through studying the specific state of the female self-consciousnesss existences in her novels,the ways she embodies it and why there is such female self-consciousnesss and ways of expression,to show the width and the depth of the female self-consciousnesss of her novels, the specificity of the ways she uses and the deep reasons of such female self-consciousnesss and ways exiting.The female self-consciousnesss in Yan's novels complements and develops the research of the living state of Chinese feminie in some particular historic period,reflects the new state of female living of the present age,and it also has positive significance to the development of feminie themselves.I introduce the background of Yan Geling and her novels,give the definition of"female self-consciousnesss"in the foreword. The main body of the thesis has three chapters:Chapter One does analysis on the basis of close reading of Yan Geling's novels,explains the female self-consciousnesss from three respects according to the female self-consciousnesss embodied specifically in her novels.In Chapter Two I explore how Yan Geling gives expression to the female self-consciousnesss in all the respects summaried above.In the last chapter,starting from the background of the writer herself I explore why such female self-consciousnesss and ways of expression exit.In the epilogue I emphasize the value and the importance of the female self-consciousnesss of Yan Geling's novels.
