Li Gang was born in the six year of Yuanfeng(1083),and died in the ten year of Shaoxing.According all life of Li Gang, he work hard for restoring prosperous, and fulfiled the solcialvalue of himself, under the situation that the political disordered inside and the alien raceinvaded outside.The family background of Li gang was Confucianism. In foundation of inheritedpredecessor achievement, Li Gang's Confucianism thought had more attention on innermostfeelings ponder. Like others thinkers of the same time, he put moral character on the firstplace, this is related to learning Buddhism. In political aspect, Li Gang took the political ideaof"Government country","stabled the china"on Reality, he advocated anti-Jin, cared aboutthe lives of the people , and he always deal with each kind of question which the countryfaced from the beginning. Because of that, Li Gang was a wisdom person who both cangovern and can go into seclusion.Because of including Confucianism, Buddhism and Daoism, Li Gang's thought hadbecome the system, simultaneously, his thought appeared out of ordinary as the factor ofBuddhism. In learning Buddhism, he experienced from perceiving through meditation tovisiting Zen master and discussing with friends; His realization of Buddhism also experiencedthe process of proceeding from self to others and from the superficial to the profound. In thisprocess ,Li Gang's Buddhism thought trended maturely, and in this foundation, he proposedthe viewpoint that"understanding heart means understand9ing Buddhism doctrine", and"Confucianism and Buddhism are similar", his Buddhism thought related to Confucianism .Inreal life, Li Gang also advanted the Salvation spirit of Buddhism.Certainly, Li Gang's thought had the aspect of conservatism, this was related to ownreason and Social environment then. However, under the mixing background of Confucianism,Buddhism and Daoism fusion, he can come in and go out Confucianism, Buddhism andDaoism, absorb the merit of all kind ideas, and become a System ideological recognition atlast. On this point, Li Gang's thought enriched Sung thought's connotation and had a certain research value, no matter was at that time or at this time.
