Color element is one of the most important and basic element in the existing forms of visual art. From discussion on the traditional and classical aesthetic imagery theory, this paper focuses on the conversion relationship between classical poetic text and color image (the transfer from abstract literary thinking to concrete visual thinking), illustrating the symbiotic relationship between the external visual form of color schema and internal imagery aesthetic characteristics; reconstructing the modern visual culture conversion through color aesthetic imagery in the color schema creation.This paper is logically divided into the following four chapters. The first chapter, based on the sources of color imagery theory and the relationship between color imagery theory and its historical and cultural sources, on the issue of connection of color culture and classical poetic imagery theory, illustrates the color imagery schema under the vision of modern visual paradigm. The second chapter analysis and interprets three aspects of color aesthetic imagery, which are the perceptual and rational of color imagery, abstract and representational of color imagery, behavioral and psychological color imagery. The third chapter interprets the elements and the aesthetic characteristics of visual forms of color imagery. The fourth chapter examines the conversion and heritage of color aesthetics from the classical imagery aesthetics under the cultural vision.This paper seeks to have some breakthrough in the following aspects. Firstly, on the research methods, the paper uses the integrated methods of hermeneutics, phenomenology, structural linguistics and etc. The paper is not limited to epistemological point of view but to discuses the colors as a visual art form of language in the content of art culture. Secondly, on the content of the paper, the study focuses on collection and analysis of the Chinese national traditional color views. Thirdly, on the characteristics of this paper, the study integrates the knowledge of multidisciplinary researches and combines the theories of art psychology and reception aesthetics, hermeneutics, epistemology and psychology to illustrate three cognition phrases of color imagery. Fourthly, on the writing method, this paper combines the color imagery theory and artworks of color imagery schema so that it can be understood more intuitively and concretely by the readers. Generally this paper studies the classical imagery aesthetic paradigm and modern visual forms of color and expects to contribute to the theoretical construction of visual forms of colors and the application of color imagery aesthetics in modern art designs and paintings.
