The psychological health of college students is always a focus of our society. In recent years, psychological problem of the college students showed trend of serious and rising. It is an urgent close subject how to help college students to respond to psychological crisis, to effectively solve the mental problems, and to improve their psychological well-being for educators in universities. As was proved by many researches, psychological help seeking and social support are two important impacts for keeping mental health of the college students. The literature shows domestic researchers focus their study on the Relationship of psychological help seeking with mental health or social support with mental health, whereas studies targeted at the relationship of combining these two factors with mental health are scarce. Especially in psychological help seeking, professional psychological help seeking has attracted more attention, while the study on nonprofessional psychological help seeking what the college students would prefer has been ignored. In view of these facts, basing on an investigation into the present situations of psychological help seeking, social support and mental health of the college students, the study try to explore the relationship and the interactive mechanism of nonprofessional psychological help seeking and social support with mental health. It aims to provide some enlightenment to educators in universities on how to structure construct all-round interconnected social support and raise the college students'enthusiasm to seek psychological help.In the investigative analysis of the present situation and relationship of nonprofessional psychological help seeking and social support with mental health of the college students, 741 college students in the school were taken out randomly from Binzhou University. The measuring instruments used in this research include the questionnaire of college students'nonprofessional psychological help seeking, SSRS (Social Support Rating Scale) and SCL–90 (Symptom Checklist 90). This research has proved that: (1)The college students have clear preferences to prefer trying to solve problems on their own before asking for help and seek psychological help generally not high when they run to psychological problem. And they prefer to seek help from non-professionals rather than professionals. In nonprofessional psychological help seeking, schoolgirl show higher enthusiasm than schoolboy. The first resource is close friends, followed by family, the lover, teachers, a psychiatrist, common schoolmates, net friend and relatives in it. Among these, turning to internet for help is a new significant way.(2)The overall level of social support of college students is high. In the using of support, the female students show higher level than the male group. Each of grade show the significant difference in the objective support, the subjective support, juniors show the significant higher scores than sophomores. And in the subjective support, the city-sourced students show the significant higher scores than the countryside-sourced students.(3)The mental health state of college students is not up to the standards in general. The positive psychological help seeking is important in establishment and perfection of better social support system. The social support is better, the motivation of psychological help seeking is stronger, the mental states are healthier.(4)The psychological help seeking may forecast the mental health directly. Although the social support cannot forecast the mental health directly, the social support has the significant forecast to the psychological help seeking. The social support affect the mental health level by acting on the psychological help seeking.Finally, according to analyzing and discussing the finding of the study, the paper presents some advice on the mental health education in universities.
