The mood particle in Mandarin Chinese is an important sector cannot be neglected in the teaching Chinese as a foreign language.In allusion to some problems which are related to it,the paper designed a questionnaire to do a systematic investigation which about the teaching of the mood particle in various kinds of categories and the overseas students'acquisition process of the mood particle.On this basis,the article came to the objective conclusion of factor analysis.At the same time,we put forward pedagogical strategies and learning strategy by the theories of Cognitive Linguistics, Second Language Acquisition Theories.The achievement of this paper will be useful to the mood particle study of Chinese and Second Language Acquisition study,theoretically and practically.There are four chapters in this paper.Chapter one is exordium of the paper.The author has introduced the progress of the mood particle study in modern Chinese noumenon research and Chinese for foreigners.Then,the paper keeps track of target as well as the purpose of research and proposal for solution.After previous study was summarized,the author makes a distinction between the concept of "Mood" and "Tone",which were included in the mood particle.Chapter two puts emphasis on statistics questionnaires and interviewing,which consist of three stages from elementary to advanced. After introducing the bylow of the test,we discribe the overseas students'applied present situation about the typical mood particle "ma(吗)\ne(呢)\ba(吧)\a(啊)\de(的)\le(了)\ma(嘛)",from three point of view,namely,syntactic distribution,semantic understanding,pragmatic distinction.Therefore,we conclude acquisition errors in different stages and tabulate implicational scalings respectively. We also modify the acquisition sequence of the mood particle.In the light of the principle for teaching benefits teachers as well as students,chapter three deals with pedagogical strategy and learning strategy.They include:to sum up management for the teaching material,to absorb positive result of language teaching theories and form a tentative combination of kinds of pedagogical strategies;to count up learning strategy inclination of various stage and examine the discrepancies in the selection of strategies between excellent students and underachiever,on the ground of which we can explain some factors which could influence acquisition and finally bring forward related example of teaching case.Chapter four is a summary of the whole paper.It concludes the key points in above research.The problems unsettled have also been pointed out.
