The Moral Choice On The Development Of Domestic Environment Protection Automobile In China

In the twenty-first century of China, the development of the domestic environmental protection automobiles is not only an industrial production and economic development process, but also is a process of the awakening in environmental ethics and progressive development to a large extent. In the course of economic development, the government should take the macro-control for the development of the domestic environment protection automobiles industry so as to promote the national industrial development and progress, ensuring full employment of domestic labor; in the meanwhile, with the development of economy, the government, automotive manufacturers and consumers have to take the appropriate ethical responsibility for the environmental protection, nature conservation, and maintenance of the harmonious relations between human and nature. Economic development and environmental protection should be mutually promoted and interrelated. This article holds that the choices for the development of the ordinary automobile and the domestic environmental protection automobile are not only the technological and economical choice but also the moral choice. At present, the research that is directed at those problems focused more on the economic choice and technological choice, whereas the research on the moral choice is almost a blank. Therefore, this study is not only beneficial to the Applied Ethics concerning the moral choices theoretically, but of the practical significance for the healthy development and the establishment of the scientific decision-making of the automotive industry done by Government and for strengthening the environmental protection. On the basis of defining the conception of moral choice, this paper firstly demonstrates and analyzes the issue of moral choice, faced by the domestic automotive environmental protection of China through the theory of moral choice. Next, this paper analyzes the moral responsibility of three subjects in the development of domestic environmental protection automobile and the moral conflict, and then analyzes the solution for the moral conflict should be based on the principle of sustainable development for the moral choice and the green technology development. At last, this paper proposed some practical recommendations and measures in allusion to the government's direction and the central role, the basic role of business, and the participation and supervision role of the consumers in a course of moral choices for the development of domestic environment protection automobiles of China.
