Industrial Heritage And Conservation In Wuxi

Based on the theory of history, heritage protection, urban planning and other subjects, this paper does some researches on Wuxi's industrial heritage status and protection, which helps us explore the significance of industrial heritage and the system approaches for the protection of industrial heritage.Firstly, the paper makes researches for the background of Wuxi's modern industrial development history. It shows that Wuxi is the cradle of China's modern capitalist industry and commerce and also Wuxi is the birthplace of national industry of cotton, silk and textile, which takes important significance in China's industry. The industrial remains have important history value.This paper outlines the type of structure, characteristics and value of Wuxi's industrial heritages, which highlights the large amount and the wide range. It emphasizes the significance of industrial heritage protection for urban development.This paper takes the industrial heritage protection list for reference. After field research on these industrial heritages, this paper summarizes the protection measures and the re-use models to explore industrial heritage tourism.Finally, the paper uses the experiences of home and abroad for reference and gives recommendations on the heritage protection in the subject, the re-use patterns and the sources of funding to develop.
