It is the purpose of this thesis, which clearing up the characteristic culture of the Tujia minority, protecting and passing down the immaterial historic culture and developing and properly exploiting the excellent culture. And the contents of the thesis are explaining and discussing the five local minority culture of Wuling mountainous area as well as putting forward some suggestions about the passing down and protecting the relic.Chapter one: culture of marriage of crying. This chapter fully discusses the phenomenon of crying marriage, first, the author introducing the growing- up etiquette, then recalling back the primitive ideology about marriage, and last telling the origin and procedure and content of crying marriage as well as pointing out the cause of local folk-custom in the Tujia nationality. Chapter two: the culture of hand-swing. This chapter discusses the characteristics of hand-swing in Tujia nationality from multi-perspective, firstly, it casts back the evolving of hands-swing, elaborately introducing the celebrating time, place of hands-swing dance, which including the content and points of the dance as well as the annotating of fork culture of the dance. Chapter three: the culture of baldachin. The chapter discusses the colorful tapis and baldachin, recalling back the origin and development of silk product by means of mythology and legend, fully analyzing processing skills of silk, representing content and function, and last the author puts forward the suggestions about the protecting such culture. Chapter four: the culture of white tiger. This chapter analyzes the characteristics of white tiger; the author brings forward the origin of white tiger culture, indicating the difference of worship of white tiger between the Tujia and other minorities. And last, the culture of white tiger is of great deep metaphor and function in their mind. Chapter five: funeral culture. The chapter briefly looks back the history of funeral custom, fully introducing and dissecting the different funeral custom, forms and procedure, etc.The author makes comparative analysis of the different immaterial relics, and the research skills involving history, ethnology, folklore, etc, moreover, the author also puts forward some suggestions about protecting, inheriting and propaganding the immaterial relic.
