This article describes a classroom based case study which contains two components: body text of case details and its analysis. The body text veraciously recorded EM company抯 HR management system and problems raised from the merger. It focused on the cultural conflict that caused high employee turnover during the merger process and the role of HR department in the company and its present HR management system. Case study part employed the approach of analysis that based on theory-and- fact combination. By using the relevant knowledge of Human Resources Management, Management and Organize Behavior, author spelled out the new role that HR plays under the changed outer environment and challenge to HR managers that this new role brought forth. It arrived at a concrete plan of HR抯 role transition in post-merger era of the company.
