From 1980's,with China's reform and opening, tourism industry boomed quickly and became an important part of national economy. At the end of 20 century China's government regarded tourism as a new growth point considering huge tourism demand in china. So it was necessary to discuss tourism effects on national economy to understand it deeply. The article's aim is to know tourism effects in Xinjiang and find why there is bad tourism's effects in order to offer theoretic basis of tourism resource exploitation. It analyses tourism economic effects from different aspects, such as national income, employment, industry structure and foreign exchange, using demonstration approach.1 Basic theoretic study. Consumption is the most direct and striking character of tourism. The thesis interprets the relation between tourism and local economy, and values tourism effects from the aspect of demand affecting production, and thinks it as theoretic basis.2 Demonstrating tourism effects on Xinjiang national economy.1)Tourism effect on Xinjiang national income. I use the method INPUT-OUTPUT to compute Xinjiang tourism income multiplier, and the result is 1.59. If Xinjiang tourism added value increases ï¿¥1, Xinjiang GDP will increase ï¿¥1.59. The digit is lower than 1997 China's income multiplier. Comparing Xinjiang tourism contribution to Xinjiang GDP, we find tourism effect on Xinjiang national income is enlarging.2)Tourism effect on Xinjiang employment. Xinjiang tourism employment multiplier is 1.5, Using INPUT-OUTPUT to compute it. It reflects that if tourism industry directly employs 1 person, there is 1.5 employee in the whole economy in Xinjiang. Therefore, it proves that the proportion 1:5 is false that is prevailingly quoted in Xinjiang tourism administrations and research institutes.3)Analysing tourism direct and indirect GDP and employment of every industry, we may find that tourism affected greatly the following industries: social services, passenger transportation, petroleum and oil, and so on. On the one hand it shows tourism's services, on the other hand it shows Xinjiang industry structure is not reasonable. 4)When using INPUT-OUTPUT, I compute intaking coefficient, and than compute direct consumption coefficient on Xinjiang production in order to avoid non-xinjiang production effects on the research. So the digit is true comparatively in the article.5) International tourism effect on Xinjiang foreign exchange. Through data comparison, it turns out that the speed of foreign exchange gained by international tourism is higher than by trade export. Xinjiang international tourism developed quickly and has great potential in the future. From the analysis we may conclude that tourism can increase national income, employment and foreign exchange; it may make Xinjiang industry structure more advanced and reasonable. In the end, the thesis advises on how to improve tourism economic effects.
