Most of the theories about political risk belonged to scholars from the west world. There are serious limitations when the theories were based on 1960s' world political situation, and served for multinational businesses in the developed countries. The dissertation's main goal is concerned with the various formulating theoretical frameworks of political-risk to adapt to the quick change in the world .This dissertation contains a review of concepts, elements and interactive patterns of political environment encountered by international businesses .The author presents some developing trends of political-risk concepts , compares various methods and approaches of political risk .The research leads to the identification of three main problems in political-risk theories. Reconstructing the framework of political concepts and the frameworks of strategic management are other advantages made in the process of the research. The end of the dissertation is devoted to some common methods of political-risk-management and some risk-management strategies of international businesses after China joins the WTO.The researcher suggests that the most effective way to study the sociopolitical risk of business is to approach it as a managerial problem. Political-risk confronting international businesses have gradually changed from revolutionary risk to non-revolutionary risk and non-market risk . The author employs concepts and methods from the field of political science rather than from the field of business management. Political-risk-analysis should involve the various levels in business and the entire operating process . The author tries to construct a new political-risk conceptual framework.
