The Change Of Social Ideal Since China's Modern Times And Its Enlightenment

The Chinese history since modern times is a history in which various social ideals have been put forward and fought for. The social ideal in modern China, represented by that of Hong Xiuquan, Kang Youwei and Sun Yat-set and anarchism, put so much emphasis on morality and ethics that it overlooked its aim to promote social productivity. Eventually, it was doomed unable to be realized. Since the founding of the new China in 1949, the three generations' leader groups of the CPC have made consistent efforts and exploration for the fulfillment of Marxist social ideal. Mao Zedong once realized the important role of productivity in the social ideal, but unfortunately, this correct realization was abandoned and the movement of "People's Communalization" was launched in his remaining years. This is a grave setback in the pursuit of the social ideal. The second generation's leader group led by Deng Xiaoping resumed the correct acknowledgement of productivity theory, concretized and realized the ideal, and finally ushered the Chinese people successfully on to the socialist road with Chinese characteristics. The third generation leader group represented by Jiang Zemin, has inherited and developed this policy and further carried out the socialist cause in all aspects. This dissertation, after the analysis of this historical process, finds out the main plot of the process and thus reveals the scientific nature of today's social ideal in china. And on this basis, the dissertation dissects some misunderstanding about the current ideal, and attempts to illustrate the basic thinking in advocating scientific ideal.
