Studies On Main Problems And Countermeasures Of R & D For The First Type Of New Drug

We must realize that in the past several decades,imitative methods have be mainly used in R&D of new drug in our country,and thus a vast amount of cost and time for R &D of new drug have been saved. With the reformation and open door policy of our country and the closing to entering WTO,the protection of intellectual property for drug,specially safeguarding the first type of new drug (FTND) will be enhanced,and approach to imitation of FTND is not permitted increasingly. As petroleum,chemical engineering,automobile and telecommunication industry,FTND is one of key industry for a nation,and occupies an important place in the national economy. More and less of FTND is a sign of national power or vigor and prosperity. R&D of FTNDplay a very important part in countrymen taking innovative and high quality drug. At present,cost of R&D of FTND in our country is much less than world levels,and qualified personnel of R&D can not suit the needs of R&D for FTND. Although our nation has less enough of financial resources,there are high venture and great expense for R&D of FTND,and our nation still has drugs available by imitative method,we should attach great importance to R&D of FTND. In this paper,the trends,main problems existed and nine countermeasures of R&D of FTND are discussed. In the future,we pay more attention to R&D of FTND,and concentrate valuable manpower,material and financial resources,FTND will be becoming continued development source of pharmaceutical industry in our country. As a result of this,the whole national pharmaceutical industries should approach or catch up with the advanced international level.
