Based on tourism management practice and combined closely with e-commerce technology, this thesis raises the issue of enhancing tourist business development abilities to provide technology support for tourist enterprises after the entry into World Trade Organization. It theoretically analyzes Xi'an Overseas Tourist Corporation (OTC)'s current management information system, existing problems and the reasons that stop the company from further development. It proposes the objects and steps of management information system (MIS), also it analyzes the characters of tourist enterprises in Internet environment and brings forward the idea of a new generation MIS which is combined with e-commerce. The thesis has profound significance in realizing online trading for tourist businesses. ItSpeeds up the business operation and enhances internal operation efficiencyReduces advertising cost and shortens unnecessary processIncreases business transparency and enables B2BIn addition, the thesis analyzes and designs a decision supporting system (DSS) based on the Internet, which helps to offer technology for the managers in OTC to make correct decisions. It is tailor-written with the latest technologies and the author's years of working experience in OTC, this thesis provides OTC with technology support in the rapid development of tourism industry in China, and makes a trail example for the future MIS in e-business environment within tourist industry.
