Study On Industry Competitiveness And Adjustment Of Chongqing Industry Structure

Under the situation of Chinas' entry into WTO as well as the setting up of the system of socialism market economy and the strategy of the implementation West development in China,competition in domestic and international market becomes intense. Competitiveness will be a main factor to judge a country or an area's economic strength. Chongqing,as a young municipality,now it is facing with an urgent task of how to readjust industry structure so as to strengthen its industry competition and to enhance its economic strength.By applying the theory of Professor Porter's competitiveness and the basic theory of industry economy,this dissertation explains the content of competitiveness and systematically analyses the factors that influence the industry competitiveness. Such factors include vital input factors,industrial organization policy,ability of studying and creating,efficiency of cooperation the industry policy and so on. On the basis of this,by adopting the data of China and Chongqing 2000's yearbook and the Econometrics and SPSS,the dissertation set up an evaluation model of industrial competitiveness,then applies the evaluation model to practically analyze the Chongqing's manufacture industries. According to every industry's competitiveness scores,Chongqing's manufacture industries are ranked. Then the dissertation analyzes the cause of the changes of every industry's competitiveness and suggests the readjusting plan must go hand in hand with a clear aim. Finally,relation to Chongqing's municipality,its stage of industrialization,Chinas' entry into WTO and the strategy of the implementation West development in China,the dissertation analyzes the background of Chongqing's industry structure readjusting and the significance of promoting Chongqing's industry competitiveness.On the basis of above analysis,the dissertation puts forward the fundamental strategy of readjusting Chongqing's industry structure as follows:Following the objective law of industry developing and combining the comparative advantage with competitiveness advantage,Chongqing should implement the developing strategy of competitive advantage. On one hand,according to the real situations of Chongqing,the dissertation suggests positive factors of domestic and international division of labor should be utilized. On the other hand,according to the competition between industries and the causes and effects' relationship of industrial replacement,by changing the comparative advantages into competitive advantages,the dissertation suggests that Chongqing should reform traditional industries and enforce priority industries,mainstay industries,breed leading industries and develop high and new technologyindustries. And by creating new competitive advantage continually,the dissertation suggests the readjustment and promotion of industrial structure should be propelled. Through the industrialization and information,the dissertation suggests that the crossing road of industry developing should be carried out and the new industrial advantages should be formed gradually to enhance the competitiveness of industry and enterprise.
