Study On The Frontier Trade Between China And Vietnam

Frontier trade is one of the special trade form between the adjacent countries, and is the important content of the foreign trade in a country. Frontier trade between China and Vietnam has always played an important role in the frontier trade of China. Frontier trade between China and Vietnam has developed quickly since the normal relationship was built up between China and Vietnam in 1991, and it promoted largely the development of economy and society in the frontier area between China and Vietnam. However, there are many handicaps in the process of development, such as the environment of policy, the constitution of goods, the payment and so on. Those handicaps not only bring awful influences to the frontier trade between China and Vietnam, but also restrict the higher development of frontier trade between China and Vietnam. With China entered the WTO and China-ASEAN free trade area being set up, the frontier trade between China and Vietnam will play an even more important role in the foreign trade between China and Vietnam. It is, therefore, an urgent and realistic problem about how to make the most of the comparative advantages of frontier trade and how to solve the handicaps in the frontier trade between China and Vietnam. Firstly, the thesis introduces the concept and the relative theory of the frontier trade. Secondly, by applying qualitative and quantitative methods, the author not only analysis the development history and the present situation of frontier trade between China and Vietnam, but also discuss the basis of frontier trade between China and Vietnam, and demonstrates its influences in national economy. Finally, after disclosing the favorable and the unfavorable reasons of frontier trade between China and Vietnam, the author puts forward the trade strategy of frontier trade between China and Vietnam.
