A Study On Countermeasures To Adjust The Structure Of Mineral Industry In Taiyuan

Mineral resources play important roles in nation economic development. Taiyuan, which is the provincial capital of shanxi that is regarded as the "energy & heavy chemical industry base" and rich in mineral resources, so the mineral Industry is one of pillar industries. As mineral exploration and exploitation laying particular stress on coal resources, it made the structure of mineral exploration and exploitation out of balance and depressed the efficiency. Lower production level mak'ing mineral resources overexploited, precious reserve wasted and the fragile environment polluted.At the beginning of this paper presents the feature of mineral industry and explains necessity of carrying out the sustainable development of mineral industry by analyzing the relationship among mineral exploration , environment protection and economic development and the period of mineral industry development. After that, by the analyzing of mineral resources feature and its current development condition, the characteristics and the economic potentialities of the mineral industry in taiyuan, based on the detailed analysis of the supply and demand of mineral resources trend and problem and difficulties in mineral industry, the counter measurement are proposed from those aspects: reinforce management of mineral resources, adjust and modify structure of mineral industry and environment protection policy to promote its application and the sustainable development of mineral industry and social economic.
