Development Of ERP System For Ship Maintenance Enterprises Based On C/S Structure

With China's entry of WTO and the development of economic globalization, Chinese ship maintenance enterprises will be faced with more violent market competition. How to control repairing cost and obtain the price advantages became one of the main management goals of ship maintenance enterprises. Information management can help enterprises to carry their point; therefore it is inevitable for them to establish their information management. China has a great number of ship maintenance enterprises, which play an important role in Chinese economy today. The management models of these enterprises vary widely and are commonly flexible; these traits make the difference between the informationization of other vocation. The main content of research in this thesis is the application of ERP system to ship maintenance enterprises.This thesis outlines the concept of ERP, the present development at home and abroad, the trend and application of ERP at home. This thesis also explains the way of research and development of ERP, steps of application of ERP, typical technology of research and development of ERP, problems lying ahead of enterprises and the solutions of these problems. This thesis also researches the actual condition and features and puts forward the problems and analysis of demand.Under the guidance of ERP theory and according to the actual complexion of YouLian Shipyard Limited Company of HongKong, the ERP system for YouLian Shipyard based on C/S(Client/Server) structure is researched.The ERP System has attained the total goal of research and development ofthe systemm-aking full use of resource of company, reducing production cost,improving working condition, raising working efficiency, stimulating structure reform, promoting levels of management, enhancing the ability of policy decision and realizing informational management.The particular system of ERP for YouLian is designed in this thesis and theERP System for YouLian is also developed. The overall system design, system work flow, system module design of ERP for YouLian system and its integration with other subsystems are introduced in detail in this dissertation. On the other hand, this thesis also introduces the relevant technical details during the development of the system from software technology. This thesis shows the specific process and points out the notices in building ERP, and prospects the work in future for extending and exercising in other maintenance enterprises even other vocation to the ERP system.
