With farther development of Dalian's economy, the cargo volume of flow in Dalian is more and more plentiful. The original traditional transportation capacity couldn't meet the development of modern economy and it is necessary to set up the modern logistic center. This paper analyzed and forecasted the demand of the logistic market on the basis of reviewing the actuality of social economy and the development of foreign trade in Dalian and Ganjingzhi district, by the structure of the supply of goods in this region and its hinterland, developing condition of the transportation and other logistic related and the developing trend of economic trade. It is also on the basis of the statistic of the cargo volume of the road, railway and port in the recent 10 to 20 years in Dalian, combining with the material turnover of every industry. Relying on the continental and port logistic base, we prospected the marketing space, physics space and the scale of the hardware equipments in the future 5 to 10 years in Dalian. This paper points out geographical, transportation, resource and economic advantages of building the Dalian logistic base in Ganjingzi district. It demonstrated that the status and function of Ganjingzi district as the logistic area center and located Dalian continental port majoring in developing regional logistic and giving attention to international and local logistic. It also defined its transportation, storing and delivering functions and brought forward the scale of building the logistic center and implementary project . And it also made the corresponding national economic evaluation and gave policy advice to the development of the logistics in Dalian.
