Development History And New Patterning Of Technology And Economy In Southwestern Region

With the unification of the regional development, the Southwest is expected to become the hotspot in nationwide regional economic development. The Go-west Policy and entry into WTO have offered invaluable opportunities for its development. The Sino-ASEAN free trade area adds to its advantage of a favorable location. All these advantages lead to the one problem, both theoretical and practical, facing the academic circle, namely, how these resources should be integrated to help a fast-pace development. In this paper the author discusses the regional technical and economical development and present a new situation for the development of the Southwest by showing its course of development, referring to the experiences of the circumjacent countries and regions and contrasting the economic and scientific development at all its levels.This thesis is divided into six chapters. The first chapter is an introduction to the purpose and significance of this study as well as the main approach of study and methods. The second chapter is a survey of the Southwest, briefly introducing its natural, technical and economical development as well as its advantages and disadvantages. The third chapter is a review of the history of development in which the development before Liberation and after Liberation is introduced and the root for its backwardness is illustrated. The fourth chapter mainly deals with the ASEAN experiences and influences on Southwest Development. Taking the ASEAN cooperative scientific and economical development as the clue and case study as the approach, the article analyzes the many influences brought about by ASEAN economic integration and predicts the trend for the Southwest development. The fifth chapter comes up with a strategy in developing the Southwest, and emphasis in the development, based on the current situation and the regional cooperative trend. The sixth Chapter puts forward the proposal of constructing a new pattern of the Southwest development. Based on the theory of Southwest development, the articles predicts a two-dimension development pattern for the beneficial interaction between the technical and economical resources. From the study above we can conclude that the intrinsic factors should be manipulated to construct a suitable development pattern , thus creating a modernization route with Southwest characteristics.
