Now economic globalization is the main stream of economic development. Its development is based upon regionalization, grouping of the world economy, especially based on rapid development of Multinational corporation (MNC). International direct investment, which is an important phenomenon in economic globalization, must be attached important of. MNC is reforming and reallocating element of production in the world trough international direct investment to complete the global industrial transfer and adjustment. So it is a significant task to study the general rule of industrial transfer through international direct investment.Since the middle period of 1980s, the scholars at home and abroad have lucubrated that the developed countries were how to strengthen competitive power of corporation and industry to complete global industrial transfer and industrial layout. But they had little researches about the developing countries. This dissertation discussed the general rule of the global industrial transfer trough international direct investment, and analyzed the status of the developing countries in international production system. And this dissertation discussed what factors decided distribution of international direct investment, and how the industrial transfer had affected the industrial structure of host country and investing country. This dissertation gave some benefit political proposals that the developing countries upgrade the industrial structure trough utilization of international capital and improving the environment of investment.This dissertation includes six chapters. Chapter 1 discusses the background and theoretic summarization of this research. Chapter 2 and chapter 3 analyzes the trend of the spatial distribution of international direct investment and the industries choices of the developed countries' industrial transfer. And the two parts concludes the decisive factors of the location of international direct investment. Chapter 4 makes a theoretical analysis of the characteristic and economic motive of internationalIIindustrial transfer, and concludes the general rule of the industrial upgrading of the host country and the mode of industrial transfer trough international direct investment. Chapter 5 discusses the industrial structure and the locational characteristic of foreign direct investment in China. Chapter 6 is the part of conclusion, in the chapter some benefit political proposals on industrial transfer at home and abroad trough international direct investment is tabled.The characteristic of this dissertation is that it makes a positive and theoretical analysis of the international industrial transfer through the international direct investment, which is based on a greal deal of data and the theory of foreign direct investment , international trade and the development economics.
