Study On Development Of The Karst Culture As Tourism Resource In Guizhou

Guizhou is "a province of karst" and one of the largest region of karst in the world. The special karst geographic background forms its special karst cultural types. While the passing tourist development emphasizes particularly on natural sight and minor national culture, and seldom pay enough attention to the cultural connotation of the whole karst region. The subjects of tourist development are not distinct and prominent. In the light of this point, taking man-land relationship as the guiding thoughts, and taking topography, geography of tourist and cultural geography as theoretical basis, using the methods of material collection indoors and outdoors and exploration, the author dig karst culture in the following aspects: the contents, the formation, the character, then make a comparison of difference in space and time and the accumulation of space and time. This paper holds the points of view that karst culture is the outcome of inhabitant's production, creation of living and their passing from a generation to a generation, and it is the special culture only in karst environment. This paper mainly focuses on the three issues: karst culture; karst cultural as tourism resources; tourism development model and its examination. This paper explores the karst culture from the following perspectives: the formation, content system, and cultural features, and refine the parts of karst culture with positive value and general attraction into astourism resource. On the other hand, the paper makes tourism evaluation, which involving the scientific value of tourism resource and cultural value from cultural historical connotation and the beauty features of form and connotation from the perspectives of visual angle. Though the discussion on tourism value of karst culture, the paper analyzes the feasibility of development and propose some principles and models of tourist development.Finally, under the guidance of the models above, the paper carry on tourism development design the two sights of Tian He Tan and Ye Lang Gu valley in Huaxi. the paper gets the following results:(1) Karst environment is the geography background that forms karst culture. Through the study on the producing and living of the relationship human beings and geography of karst environment, the paper holds the point of view that karst culture is the outcomes of local people's producing and living creation and their passing from one generation to another generation, and this is the special culture of karst environment.(2) Local culture is the combination of original culture and sub culture, and local culture form karst culture with foreign culture.(3) We can recognize the content system of karst culture from the following aspects: formation, features and content system. In feature, it is not only agriculture culture but also folk culture, according to patterns, it is the combination of material cultural stage and behavior cultural stage and psychological cultural stage.(4) Through study on the formation and content system of karst culture, we find that karst culture has the following characteristics: synthsis, timely order, overlap.(5) It is very understanding on karst culture theories is helpful to dig out some certain karst culture as tourism resources, including material cultural tourism resources ,such as construction, the settlement, fields tilling and crafty; spiritual cultural tourism resources, such as the prehistorical construction of Daoism and Buddism, cliff picture and writing and the special tombs.(6) Through the evaluation on tourism resources, we find that karst culture as resources have profound scientific components, rich historical culture connotation and the esthetic features in forms and contents.(7) Facing the opportunities of the entry into WTO and the Western Development, with the advanced thoughts and technology, karst culture has conditions to develop.
