Building Small & Medium Enterprise Innovation Network And Evaluating Its Performance

Small & medium enterprises (SME) are a significant driving force of economic growth, job creation, which brings generally attentions in the field of theory. Building SME innovation network can make the firms obtain more innovative resources, thus improve its performance. Therefore the construction and the relation between the network and its performance have been the emphases of the research.The paper first defines the concept of the SME innovation network, and analyzes the construct and types of network, reasons of network formation and the SME innovation network's characters. Then the paper focuses on the process of building SME innovation network, further more, focuses on the relationship between the SME and other nodes. And the network's basement and motility mechanism are also researched. It also studies the influences on innovation by building SME innovation network. On the basis of these theories, the paper makes a practical study to the Zhejiang small & medium enterprises then prove that the construction of the networks helps them to improve innovation performance. At last, the paper puts forward the existing problems and the solutions of the SME innovation networks in Zhejiang province based on the practical study.
