Especially in the recent years, people's consumption levels in tourism strength day by day and people demand higher quality tourism products. Such conditions force tourism destinations to draft tourism planning of high quality and high level in order to design original tourism products. The slogan that planning must go ahead of the rest if you want to develop the tour has become all departments, scholars and experts' cognition in common. However, our country's research about tourism planning is still laggard now. Many abuses of traditional tourism planning' theories make a few of planning lack originalities, also prolong programming cycle, thus the market in tourism planning forms such a situation that supplies are less than demands. So many theories starve for deep research.Concept planning appearance gives tourism planning new nourishments. According to the new development trends in tourism market, this paper introduces concept planning of city planning into tourism planning, brings forward the concept of tourism concept planning and researches it in details and by the numbers. On the basis of it, the case, which is Danjiang Small Three Gorge tourism spot in Madeng town of Xichuan county, is studied using tourism concept planning's theories and methods.This paper is divided into seven parts, including foreword and inclusion.The first part is foreword. It introduces briefly the paper's research background and sense, thinks that the appearance of tourism concept planning conforms to the new demand to tourism planning, enriches and develops our traditional theories.The second part puts tourism concept planning forward. Though concept planning has several decade years history in overseas' city planning world, it is a new thing in our country. The author analyzes concept planning and tourism planning in order to look for their link point, advances tourism concept planning, analyzes domestic status quo about it now, and gives its definition.In the third part, the author expatiates tourism concept planning's qualities andcharacteristics. Then the primary problems in the tourism concept planning are analyzed.In the forth part, the paper discusses the principles, technical routes and methods of tourism concept planning. According to the productions others have studied, it researches the principles and technical routes, which tourism concept planning must follow, and dissertates some important taches in details. In the research methods, the author uses city planning' s experiences for reference, and puts forward regional analysis method, problem guiding-goal leading method and structure and function method. At the same time, the paper enumerates tourism concept planning's applying range.The fifth part is tourism concept planning's contents, and it also is one of important contents of this paper. Besides the frame, which is formed by foundation research, subject research and tactic research, this part studies three important types of tourism concept planning including tourism developing concept planning, tourism collectivity concept planning and tourism item concept planning, too.The sixth part is a case about tourism concept planning. The author takes Danjiang Small Three Gorge ecotourism spot in Madeng town of Xichuan county for example, uses regional analysis method and problem guiding-goal leading method to put up foundation research, subject research and tactic research about all the tourism destination from the angle of the whole situation and region. Furthermore, this part gives the tourism destination an original design using modem computer technology, such as ArcView and PhotoShop.
