Integrated fertilizer companions have been explored and put into use for many years. However, this scientific fertilizing technology has not been widely and effectively used. The reasons for this can be various. It may be due to psychologic factors of farmers. Another alternative interpretation is that the technology can not be used because of the local resources, economic and social condition. In this thesis, 50 families were randomly sampled from Yunyang in Danyang, and the causes were analyzed through Knowledge, Attitude and Practice (KAP) Survey. The conclusions were as follow: Due to the poor information service system, farmers had little knowledge about the technology. The survey showed that only 40 percent of them known about it Whether farmers learned about the technology or not was correlated with the educational levels of decision-makers rather than with the age and education of farmers. Farmers' attitude toward the technology directly influenced whether they used it or not. And different attitude relied on farmers' psychologic traits and the technology's own characteristics. The analysis of farmers' psychologic traits indicated that the self-sufficient, conservative and following viewpoints developed in long term production and management were main obstacle of adopting the new technology. As far as the technology was concerned, the efficiency was the most important factor that influenced farmers' attitude. In terms of behavior for technology adoption, farmers' decision to adopt a new technology depended not mainly on arrangement of agricultural technology cadres at all levels or of village, but increasingly on media propaganda as well as the effects of neighbors and relatives. While a new technique was recommended, they didn't use until obvious effects were displayed. The realities of information, farmers' preferences for decisions and horizontal market competition also affected adoption behavior to a certain extent. In the light of the above findings, suggestions are given: Promoting farmers to have access to new technology information; Transforming fanners' attitude; Combining examples with popularization; Establishing the favorable policies and reducing administrative interference; Cutting down the cost of technology adoption and raising economic effects.
