Study On The Application Of Data Mining For Operation Strategy

With the globalization of world economic and more and more severe market competition, companies are facing greater pressure and challenge. They have to constantly seek their competitive advantage so as to live and develop in the global market. Effective operation management is basic for company compatibility because operation strategy plays an important role in operation management of company.Data mining grows up with the development of Information Technology (IT) and the need of its application. With several years fast developing, data mining technology becomes more and more mature and it has been applied in many fields.There are many methods in the study of operation strategy. This article breaks through the traditional statistics methods and uses the technology of data mining into this research. The operation strategy research carries out on the manufacturing companies in Tianjin employing statistics, association rule mining, ANFIS etc.First we acquire the real companies' data though questionnaire. Reliability and validity assessment have been conducted to verify these data. Then we apply the data mining technology on the base of traditional methods, Association rule mining, one of the most important techniques in data mining, can extract the relationship among different items. We can use ARM to find the hidden and useful rules, and then supply decision support for management practice. Company performance is one of the most important index that reflect the enterprise's compatibility. ANFIS, which integrates the characteristic of fuzzy set and neural network, is used to rank different companies' performance. The influence of different operation strategy on performance is studied in the same environment and we fulfill the processing of uncertain and fuzzy data. The result shows that the above methods are more suitable in dealing with the real world data than traditional statistics ones.This article makes a try that applies the data mining technologies into the study of the relationship between the operation strategy and the performance evaluation. The effectiveness and applicability of the proposed method have been proved from different point of view.
