| The world is stepping into the 21st century, with the development of China's reformation and opening, especially, China's access to the World Trade Organization, China is facing the challenge and the competition from domestic and international environment. At the same time, the globalization has exerted a powerful impact on the awareness of the national security. The strong and rapid change of people's idea of the national security is forming new challenge for the national security. How to deal with the new condition is the concerning problem for Chinese people to think.Against the background of globalization and the challenge of state security, if China wants to win, we must enhance the awareness of the national security, take advantage of foreign advanced experiences and maintain the state security in politics, economy, military, science and technology, information and culture. This essay is composed of four parts, discusses the state security, the awareness of the national security, domestic and the world citizen's awareness of the national security and accordingly, puts forward some measures for the national security.The first part is the basic concept. (1) the concept of the security and the state security;(2) the history of China's state security: the first phase (1949-1969), the challenge of China's state security was mainly in politics and military from America; the second phase (1969-1982), the military security was placed at the first place, then the politics security .The economy security was on the margin of the state security; the third phase (1982-now) , the economy security is the core of the state security;(3) the concept of the awareness of national security.The second part, analyses the current state security in politics, economy, military, science and technology, information and culture. Firstly, the western opposition's strategy of westernized and separation still remain a threat to China's politics security within the context of the political globalization; secondly, the economy security has been the core of China's state security within the context of the world economy globalization; thirdly, military still remains the base of the state security; fourthly, science and technology has become an important component of the productivity and economy. The competition of science and technology has been increasingly drastic. The science and technology security has become the important part of the state security, the western countries, which believe in the hegemony and power politics apply the culture colonialism policy to achieve the economical and political aim. The culture security has become a big problem. The third part, compares the current domestic citizen's awareness of national security with that of other countries in the world. The status quo of domestic citizen's awareness of national security is mainly on the following four aspects: firstly, the indifferent of ideology; secondly, the idea of putting the national benefit above all has been impacted; thirdly, lack of national identity; fourthly, the awareness of national security has been weakened, especially in the protection of commercial secret, science and technology secret and national secret. The examples of America, Japan and Russia are given. America, the author introduces the education of American's national defense and national information security; Japan, the author introduces the Japanese collectivism, the moral education of enterprise staffs, the Japanese intelligence sense, the education of quality's awareness and the education of crisis; Russia, introduces the information net security and measures. These have played active roles in improving Chinese awareness of national security.The fourth part, the author discusses how to adopt foreign experience and how to improve the awareness of Chinese national security, accordingly puts forward some measures: (1) develop patriotism, maintain vitality of national culture and strengthen the national self-identity; (2) enhance the whole people education...
