On Path Choice Of Economy Development In Rural Areas Of Guangxi

The issues concerning agriculture, rural areas and peasant are the focal point and difficult point in realizing the goal of building a well-off society in an all-round way. From the view of future development, the most arduous task in reaching the goal is in the rural areas. Since the reform and opening, great achievements have been made in the rural areas and the problem of providing over one billion people with adequate food and clothing has already been solved basically. However, on the whole, there still exist some problems, such as the disequilibrium of development and an expanding tendency of the gap between city and countryside and among regions, low productive forces in rural areas, comparatively low living standards of peasant, difficulties of part of the peasant unable to extricate themselves from poverty, long-standing stagnant development of social undertakings in rural areas, and the backward conditions of education, culture, medical and health care in countryside which needed to be improved. Researching the path choice of the economic development in rural areas aims at constructing a modernized agriculture, developing the rural economy, increasing the peasant's income and changing the backwardness in countryside so as to carry forward the well-off society construction in rural areas.This thesis makes a special research on the said problems. On the basis of defining the research objective accurately and summarizing the researches done by other people on the path choice of the regional and rural economic development, in light of the reality that at present, in Guangxi region with the rural areas as the main part, the level of economic development is low, the speed of the development is slow and it is difficult for peasant to increase their income, the thesis, by conducting an analysis of combining the theory with example, reality with history,and theory with policy, makes a thorough studied on the aforementioned problems.The development economics and regional economics both demonstrate the role played by system revolution in the development of economy, especially in economic transformation. System reform aims at enhancing the productivity, improving trade efficiency and promoting marketlization, which is an issue of economic growth and development. In system revolution, there exists a mechanism of increasing returns and self-reinforcement. Once this kind of mechanism makes the system revolution onto a path, its set orientation will be self-reinforced in further development. Because of this, the path dependence and path choice of the system shall be taken into account. Moreover, the thesis, by changing the research angle and the way of research, And, it makes a comprehensive study on the history of the disequelibrium of economic development in different regions, especially in rural areas, due to China's regional development strategy.This thesis, by using the theory of system revolution and path choice, makes a systematic analysis on the experiences and theories of the economic development mode adopted in regions such as Wenzhou and Southern Suzhou which proved successful and discusses the path dependence and path choice of the rural economy under the limitation of resources and system. Path choice refers to the sum total of various measures taken for realizing a specific goal. It exerts a significant influence over the realization of the goal of an economic development strategy as well as over its effects. The economic development mode differs from region to region. However, each mode shall have a clear strategic development goal. At present, three major modes of promoting economic development are great-leap-forward development, general development and combination development; each of them has advantages and disadvantages.
